I get very suspicious every time I hear someone is going to apply logic to solve linguistic problems. But as far as I understand this, the goal of this thesis is not to model the language with logic but to model some linguistic tools with logic. This sounds resonable.
I read the introduction and I agree with Lager that the most linguistic tools are beeing made without general and fundamental questions have been answered before.
I am curious about the next capitel (Philosophy of Corpus Linguistics), hope I can find enough time to read it soon.
